Everybody / Everything / Each / Every / Everyone
1. Every and all Technically every: a number of people or things considered individual:
ALL : a number of people or things considered are a group. But in practice, every and its compounds are often used to refer to a group.
2. Each is ( adjective and pronoun), Every is (adjective)( singular verb):
EACH : a number of persons or things, considered individually. It can be used of two or more persons or things, and is normally used of small numbers.
EVERY : some meaning but with less emphasis on their dialysis. Not normally used of very small numbers.
EXP :
-Every soldier knows what to do.
-Each soldier had a weapon.
3. Everything/ everybody and everyone should be used with singular pronoun and possessive adjective as they are used with singular verbs, so everybody and everyone are used with pronouns:
he/ she/ him/ her and possessive adjective : his/ her. But in spoken English language plural forms are used: They/ Them and Their. Everything is always used with it and its.
EXP :
-Has everyone on their phone?
4. Everyone; everybody; everything (pronoun)(singular verb) everyone/ everybody better than all (the) people:
*Everything better than all (the) things.
*Except when they are followed by a phrase or a clause.
EXP :
-Everything has been wasted.
-I got all the things you asked for.
-ALL the people in the room clapped.
- Everyone/ Everybody is ready.
